How do bail bonds work?

  1. Step 1 – Find the bail rate.

The first thing you’ll need to know is what the actual bail rate is, so that you know how much will be needed. Once a judge sets bail, you can find out the cost of bailing out your family member or friend.

  2. Step 2 – Get a co-signer.

A valid co-signer will be needed in order to move forward with the bail process. The co-signer will need to have a valid form of identification, and must be 18 years of age or older to qualify for this status.

  3. Step 3 – Make a 10% payment.

A Braswell Bail Bonds agent will charge 10% of the bail bond or a $100.00 minimum charge. These rates and fees are set by the State of Florida. All bail bonds agencies will charge the same rate.

  4. Step 4 – We complete bail.

After the first three steps have been completed in full, a staff member at Braswell Bail Bonds will submit all of the necessary paperwork to the jail for bail. This process will take about 10 to 15 minutes.

There are different types of bail bonds, ranging from cash bonds, to property and surety bonds. One of our specialists will talk with you in detail about the type of bond that works best for you.
